Zoom Out

On Wednesday, September 21st of 2022, I was traveling to Atlanta, Georgia for WTAL (Woman Thou Art Loosed) conference. I have been waiting for this conference for several years, so when the time came, I believed it was my time to step into the moment only God knew what will shift for me, and to those women who were in the room with me. This was not just a conference but it was coordination day (coordination means the process of organizing people or groups so that they work together properly and well, according to google). Before getting into that room, I wanted to learn the lessons my heavenly Father prepared for me (low-key your girl was excited🤩).

Early in the morning I drove to the airport (BWI), this was my first time flying since I came to America, the first time I flew, I was 17 years old coming from Ethiopia to the land of opportunity I heard so much about and I had no idea what would take place, at that time, I was just following my dad's order, so, any lessons that were there at that moment, my mind was not in the space to receive it. But this time I was determined not to miss it, I was aware of the lessons (even tho I didn't know exactly what it was) and there was something I must learn from this experience and since I have a close relationship with my Heavenly Father, I asked Him what did He want to teach me on my way to the promised land, I truly believed He would supply all of my needs according to the riches of His glory and my needs at that moment were a wisdom that will help me to enter into the future well equipped as time ushered me to it. As the plan started to move, my excitement increased, and in the process of the plan going up, I noticed something, those things that were big at one point when the plan was on the ground were no longer big as the plan started to go up, the high the plan go the smaller those things that were on the ground became, and at that moment, my Heavenly Father said: “ZOOM OUT”.

We usually zoom in when we want to see the details of something, zooming in gives us the ability to see it closely, it helps us to see every detail that was there on the very thing we were looking at, then when we finished, we zoom out because we saw everything we needed to see. To move to the next, it requires us to zoom out from the very thing we once zoomed in on so we can see what is next.

In life, so many of us are zooming in on our problems thinking if we see the details we can solve them, in some cases, not every problem you are facing needs to be resolved, some just need to be removed. Some of us are zooming in; on our past, shame, regret, grief, disappointment, Hurt, pain, worrying, stress, anger, unforgiveness,  Pride, ego, entitlement, etc…(add the very thing you are zooming in at this moment that is preventing you from seeing your future with hope). When my Father told me to zoom out, He was showing me how small all of my problems are, the only reason they grow bigger was that I was the source of their power. See, some of us did not know we are the source of the enemy getting his resources. As long as you are standing in the place where you should not, it is easy for the enemy to access your power to use it against you.

So, zoom out from the very thing you are focusing on that is draining your power, to zoom out, you have to go to a higher place that makes those things smaller, at one point they were big to you because of the place you once stood on. You can cut out anything that draws power to drain you instead of developing you. Where is your higher place you can stand on? Mine is the word of my Father, He created the heavens and the earth, which means to Him nothing is bigger, so, when my eyes couldn't see, I borrow His eye to see to the very thing I am looking at for what it is not for what I think it is.
